A poll on the facebook group planning my 10 year high school reunion:
“Would scheduling the reunion for the first weekend in November (opening deer season) effect your decision to attend the reunion?”
Possible answers:
- Will not attend anyway… doesn’t matter what date
- Will not attend due to deer season… would attend otherwise

I would have LOVED to sit in on that planning meeting.
“How ’bout the 10th?”
“Works for me.”
“Sounds good.”
“Ehh. . . that’s deer season. Nobody will come.”

Our office tends to depopulate, that first week in deer season. I think it’s why my boss keeps me on staff, since I don’t hunt. When I’m there, he can get away. The saving grace is that most of our customers do the same, so it’s usually quiet that week.
Besides deer season, there’s also Nascar, and football season.
Of course, it’s not just the South, you know…
