Build-a-Blog

Unless you’re one of those really well known websites, tapping the readers for stuff is usually hit or miss.  Having said that, we’ll see what happens…

Call it writer’s block, call it lack of inspiration, call it laziness.  Either way, my blogger’s broken.  I need ideas!

Not knowing where else to turn, I am officially accepting suggestions for blog topics.  Anything in particular you’d like to hear me sarcastically opine on?  Any question you’ve just been dying to ask me or the world at large?  I’ll speak on humanities behalf, if you like.  (It wouldn’t be the first time.)

Get specific.  Challenge me.  Want your topic blogged in poetry form?  Bring it, foo.  Want it in iambic pentameter?  Fine.  I have no idea what that means, but if you can explain it to me I’ll iambicly pentam the hell out of it.

Want to ask deep, serious, probing questions about my life?  Ask away and I promise you I MIGHT answer them.

Point is, have fun and help keep the ol’ blogosphere a-rollin’.  Can’t wait to see what y’all come up with.

    Oh, the wealth of opportunities that lay before us!

    Potential topics–
    An Ode to: a) Shiner or b) Chipotle Tabasco
    What is the point of basketball?
    A rant about: a) subway etiquette, b) gym etiquette, or c) billboards. (wait, that one’s mine.)

    Challenge: write an entry (triple points if it’s a rant) that includes NO cliches, slang, or parenthetical comments. I don’t think I could do it.

    Hey, can your Mom get in on this? Think carefully before answering.

    My requests:

    ~ Your best comedic re-telling of a certain slip-thud incident;

    ~ A Mixed-Up Fairy Tale video blog (c’mon, your niece would love it);

    ~ A review of the last movie you saw and hated (something comparable to the Cloverfield bash).

    I know this is an older post, but…

    I think when you run out of posts, you should do reviews of old and/or favorited movies so as to build up a portfolio of reviews and develop your angle on that front.

    If you pick a focus demographic for the review it may help you develop a distinct style that sets your commentaries apart from the masses. Also, consider reviewing the extras features (including extra audio tracks) on DVD releases. That may give you an out for reviewing “older” movies that have been already discussed in general on other film review sites.

    Web site or web video reviews could be interesting too.
