Behold! Icy Death!

This is what greeted me this morning when I stepped outside.

That’s a half-inch sheet of solid ice which stretched pretty much all the way to the train.

We got ice in Texas all the time, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it covering this much sidewalk.  I could have ice skated to the train.  Which would have been a heck of a lot of fun, come to think of it.

Have a good one,

Be careful! If you ice skate and fall, any jagged ice will be like you were running with scissors. That is what the entire DFW metroplex looks like right now- solid ice. Temps have been in the teens and single digits since yesterday morning. Lots of ice for the next couple of days.

I’ve seen it like that here, and tried to drive on it. Bad idea. You haven’t lived until you’ve slid down a steep ice-covered hill a couple of hundred yards, with a hairpin curve at the bottom. Horrible, helpless feeling.

Say, while it’s like that up there, you need to devise an experiment to see if something sliding actually does pick up speed. It sure does feel like it when you break loose.
